Speakers at a workshop emphasised community participation in disaster preparedness programmes, strengthening of GO-NGO partnership, better understanding on technical assessment and local resource mobilisation for an effective disaster management mechanism across the country.
The views were expressed at the 'Risk Reduction Sharing Workshop' organised by Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP) under the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management Thursday at Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC).
The workshop was a follow up event of field visit by the participants of 47th senior staff course in the CDMP working areas in Lalmonirhat, Shunamgonj, Shirajgonj and Faridpur districts.
A total of 24 joint secretaries to the Bangladesh government are participating in the course.
