Chand Sultana Literacy Prize to be given today

Prize giving ceremony of the Chand Sultana Literacy Prize-2007 organised by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) will be held at the DAM auditorium, Dhanmondi, in the city at 11am today (Wednesday), said a press release.

Parul Begum, a housewife of Taragonj in Rangpur district is going to receive the prize this year in recognition of her endeavour to divert out-of-school children towards school.

The prize includes a cheque for Tk 30,000, a crest and a citation.

The DAM has been awarding the prize every year since 2001 in memory of late Chand Sultana, noted non-formal education material developer of the mission.
