Bangladesh Mahila Parisad (BMP) President Ayesha Khanam on Saturday called for bringing changes in educational curriculum with incorporation of gender issues as society has already experienced its absence with the increase in violence against women.
The BMP president was addressing a certificate ceremony of a three-month course on 'Gender, Empowerment of Women and Development' at BMP auditorium.
Noted cultural personality Ramendru Majumder attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Course Director Seema Moslem was also present.
Ayesha Khanam said BMP has played the role of a pressure group in society and its course on gender under its various activities is to help work as lighthouse among conscious citizens.
Ramendru Majumder called for keeping consciousness to ensure human rights as it would not be established with women rights.
Seema Moslem said gender equality in society can be ensured only through practical and proper exercise of academic knowledge and the BMP course is designed with such target.
Around 25 participants from different private and government organisations took part in the 7th certificate course of the BMP.
