The newly appointed Chief Justice (CJ), Syed Refaat Ahmed, has categorically said that any deviation from fair dispensation of justice would not be tolerated.
"Maintenance of etiquette and suppression of injustice is the eternal responsibility of the judiciary. Strict action will be taken against any of the judges and officials who will commit injustice or breach of etiquette."
"Whoever does good will be rewarded. But any kind of deviation will not be tolerated," uttered the CJ on Monday.
He said this at a felicitation ceremony hosted at the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Attorney General (AG) Md Asaduzzaman and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president AM Mahbub Uddin Khokan also spoke.
Justice Ahmed said, "You all are aware of the reasons of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and the resulted mass uprising. Right now, we're standing on a pile of rubble. Over the years, our sense of judgment and values of judiciary have been destroyed and perverted in the judicial process."
