Chief whip emphasises modern education

MOULVIBAZAR, July 23 (BSS): Chief whip Vice Principal Mohammad Abdus Shahid has said that there was no alternative to modern education to place Bangladesh in a respectable position in the world stage.
He also advised the students to educate themselves with time befitting education to face the challenges of 21st century for building Bangladesh as a prosperous country.
The chief whip said this Wednesday while distributing stipend among the secondary and higher secondary levels, poor and meritorious students who got GPA-5 in 2008.
The function was presided over by Chief Executive officer of Moulvibazar Zila Parishad.
Abdus Shahid said the present government, led by Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasian, has stepped up different efforts to build illiteracy free Bangladesh.
He said that the PM had announced that model schools would be established in 306 upazilas of the country with all modern facilities aimed at building 'Digital Bangladesh.'
The chief whip also said the government had given the highest allocation in the national budget for the development of education sector.
