CHT indigenous culture festival begins

BANDARBAN, Mar 23 (UNB): A 5-day Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) indigenous culture festival began at Rajar Maath here Tuesday with slogan-'Culture forever, culture bridge'.
Bandarban Parbatiya Jila Parishad organised the festival with financial assistance of UNDP.
On this occasion houses of 11 ethnic communities and a Bangali Palli were set up at Rajar Maath.
Members of ethnic communities, including Chakma, Marma, Khumi, Bom and Mro, are taking part in the festival featuring an exhibition of Indigenous handicrafts, including handloom weaving, jewellery and various other artifacts.
Agriculture products and ethnic clothes and foods will also be displayed at the stalls.
Artistes from indigenous communities living in Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban will present a colourful cultural programme featuring traditional songs and dances. Noted artistes of the country will also participate.
