CID busts biggest question leak racket, arrests nine

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has claimed to have arrested nine members of the biggest gang that used to leak out question papers of different public examinations, including that of Bangladesh Civil Service Commission, in digital ways, reports UNB.
With these arrests, a total of 46 members of the gang have so far been netted, said Additional Inspector General Sheikh Niyamat Hossain at a press conference at CID conference room at around 12:00 pm on Thursday.
The detainees, among whom were government officials and students of Dhaka University, were arrested at different times last week, said the CID official, claiming that the gang has been uprooted completely with the crackdown.
The arrestees were identified as Hafizur Rahman Hafiz, senior officer of Janata Bank, Abdur Rahman Ramiz, a second-year student of the Pharmacy department of Dhaka University, Saidur Rahman Sayeed, a third-year student of Green University, Muhaiminul Islam, a fourth-year student of DU Pharmacy department, Rimon Hossain, a student of Green University, businessman Masud Rahman Tajul, Agrani Bank cash officer Jahangir Alam, Mosharaf Hossain, a messenger of Dhaka College, and Ashim Bishwas, a former student of Dhaka College.
The CID official said questions were leaked in two steps.
A gang leaks questions and after collection, another gang solves those on the exam day. They supply those to candidates through digital devices.
Earlier, the CID team identified the question leak gang and arrested its several members.
