CID looking for 37 offenders, 26 of them get admitted into DU

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police has been looking for 37 culprits who were allegedly involved in the Dhaka University (DU) admission test questions leakage for the last few years.

Of them, some 26 students had got admitted into DU in last three academic sessions by procuring admission test question papers in advance.

CID identified those offenders on 'receipt of information' on several occasions from the arrested masterminds during interrogation, said sources.

Of the offenders, 26 had got admitted into the university in different academic session.

CID's Special Superintendent Mollah Nazrul Islam said five cases have been filed in connection with the question paper leakage.

The investigations into two cases are in the final stage, he said adding charge sheet will be given in the first week of December or January.

Proctor Golam Rabbani of Dhaka University said the university authority has always been collaborating with the administration in this regard and showed zero tolerance against the culprits.
