City experiences increased rainfall

Both temperature and the humidity level remained almost unchanged in Dhaka on Thursday, compared to the previous day, even as the city experienced increased rainfall.

The Met office recorded 20 mm of rainfall in Dhaka until 6:00pm on Thursday against the previous day's rainfall of 5.0 mm.

The maximum temperature recorded in Dhaka on the day was 31 degrees Celsius, up from 30.7 degrees recorded on Wednesday.

The rate of humidity (RH), on the other hand, remained almost unchanged at 87 per cent on Thursday, according to the Met Office.

The country's highest rainfall of 101 mm was recorded in Sandwip until 6:00pm on Thursday.

The country's highest temperature of 32.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chuadanga and the minimum temperature of 23 degrees in Tentulia.

The Met office forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions and moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country today (Friday).

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

The sun sets in Dhaka at 05:51 pm today (Friday) and will rise at 5:49 am tomorrow (Saturday).
