City road crash kills auto driver

A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed as a covered van hit his auto-rickshaw in Rayerbag Bus stand area early on Sunday morning, police sources say, reports BSS.

The victim was identified as Md Ali, 50, a resident of Mohisha village of Shariatpur district.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police camp in-charge Inspector Md Bacchu Mia told the news agency that the accident occurred as the CNG-run auto-rickshaw was hit by a speeding covered van, leaving the driver seriously injured.
