CJ for speedy disposal of pending cases

RAJSHAHI, Aug 16 (BSS): Chief Justice (CJ) Surendra Kumar Sinha has said the judges, lawyers and others concerned should work together for reducing the gradually increasing pressure of cases in lower courts besides infusing dynamism in the judicial activities.
He said there is no alternative to speedy disposal of the pending cases for attaining full-length confidence of the litigants as judiciary is there last shelter.
The Chief Justice was addressing the Judicial Conference held at Circuit House conference hall in Rajshahi city yesterday evening as chief guest with Senior District and Sessions Judge Begum Kabita Khanom in the chair.
President of Advocate Bar Association Nazmus Saadat, Public Prosecutor Ibrahim Hossain, Tribunal Judge KM Shaheed Ahmed, DIG of Police of Rajshahi Range Iqbal Bahar, District Magistrate Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury, RMP Commissioner Md Shamsuddin, SP Nisharul Arif, Civil Surgeon Dr Abdus Sobhan, RAB Commanding Officer Lt Col Mahmud and BGB Sector Commander Col KM Ferdous were present at the meeting.
Chief Justice SK Sinha has urged all concerned to make good use of time so that cases can be tried within the shortest possible time. "The coordination between judges and lawyers are essential during trial. If the Bar maintains at least 80 per cent of the code of conducts and ethics, an order in lawyers' profession will surely prevail," he added.
Stressing the need for training for the newly appointed judges and lawyers he said attaining competence and efficiency isn't possible without time-fitting training.
