Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology(BUET) has been selected to host local edition of Hult Prize wherein students answer President Bill Clinton's "childhood education and the word gap" challenge with US$1 million up for grabs, organizers said.

A press release said Tuesday that Hult Prize Foundation recently announced that BUET had been selected to host a local edition of the Hult Prize, world's largest student competition.

The annual Hult Prize awards one-million dollars in start-up funding to the team of students that develops the most radical and breakthrough idea to solve one of world's toughest social challenges.

In partnership with former US President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Foundation, the Hult Prize is hosting college and university events around the world, in search for its next game-changing start-up.

Nazmus Sadat, a student of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering (MME), has been selected to lead the "Hult Prize at BUET" event as Campus Director and an official representative of Hult Prize Foundation.

"BUET students have been proving themselves by contributing to the lives of people with outstanding scientific research works, developmental ideas and the spirit for humanity around the world since BUET started its journey," said Nazmus Sadat.

The winner of the intra-campus event will automatically advance to compete in one of six regional finals happening across the world.

One winning team from each host city will then move onto a summer business incubator, where participants will receive mentorship, advisory and strategic planning as they create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social business.

A final-round competition will be hosted by the Clinton Global Initiative at its annual meeting in September, where CGI delegates will select a winning team which will be awarded the $ 1,000,000 prize by Clinton himself.

Hult Prize at BUET is now recruiting volunteers and registration process started on 1st October, 2014. Teams who are interested in registering for the competition are requested to stay up-to-date with its facebook page links given below:
