College girl \\\'commits suicide\\\' in city

A college girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in the city's Khilgaon area Thursday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Shima Akhter (18), a student of Khilgaon Ideal College and daughter of Shamsul Haque of Palong of Sadar Upazila in Shariatpur district and a resident of East Goran.

Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp said Shima took her own life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan following an altercation with her elder sister.

Shima's elder sister Rabeya scolded her for talking over phone with her friend for a long time and seized her mobile phone set Wednesday evening.

She was found hanging in her room Thursday morning. Her family members took her to DMCH where doctors declared her dead.
