A college girl drowned in a pond of Eden College in the capital's Azimpur area on Monday morning, report agencies.
The deceased is Sanjida Khatun Rupa (18), an HSC second year commerce student at Agrani Girls School and College and daughter of Saj Uddin Saju, a resident of Champakoli Lane in the city's Chawkbazar area.
Sanjida, who might have slipped into the pond, was rescued in an unconscious state and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 11:00 am where doctors declared her dead after examination.
