College student killed in city road crash

A college student was killed when a covered van hit his motorcycle at Nagdarpara in the Khilgaon area of the capital on Friday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Shahruz Islam, 19, a second-year student of Imperial College and son of Shamsul Haque of the Banasree area of the capital.

Zahedul Islam, officer-in-charge of Khilgaon Police Station, said Shahruz was killed on the spot when a covered van hit his motorcycle while he was returning home from Demra Staff Quarter area at around 09:30 pm.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
