Commuters suffer as transport workers stage demo in Sylhet

SYLHET, Oct 20 (UNB): Commuters faced suffering on Saturday as divisional transport workers staged eight-hour strike demanding eight-point charter including amendment to the Road Transport Act 2018.
Bangladesh Road Transport Workers' Federation announced the strike on Friday.
The organisation also held a rally at Dakshin Surma Bus Terminal from 6.00 am to 2.00 pm halting road communication on Sylhet-Dhaka, Sylhet-Sunamganj, Sylhet-Moulvibazar routes.
The worker leaders threatened to start two-day strike from October 28 if the authorities concerned fail to meet their demands by October 27.
