Continuous rainfall likely for three days

People in the capital and across the country are expected to experience rainfall for three consecutive days starting from today (Wednesday) due to the influence of a low formed over the north-west Bay and adjoining west central Bay off Andra-Odisha coast.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in its 24-hour forecast released on Tuesday evening said light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
In addition, people are likely to experience rainfall at a few places over Rangpur division with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country, it said.
Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Kishoregonj, Cumilla, Feni and Kushtia, and it may abate from some places in the next 24 hours, the BMD forecast said.
The highest 38.4 degree Celsius was recorded in Bogura on Tuesday while the highest rainfall recorded was 57 mm in Kutubdia.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said the met office.
