Contribution of BD to ESCAP lauded

Saida Muna Tasneem, recently- appointed Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand and  Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the UNESCAP, handed over her Letter of Introduction to Executive Secretary of UNESCAP Dr Shamshad Akhtar at the ESCAP Secretariat in Bangkok.

During the meeting, the permanent representative reaffirmed the commitment of Bangladesh to work closely with the UNESCAP to enhance technical and capacity building cooperation in the areas of regional connectivity and integration, energy connectivity, sustainable development and trade facilitation.

The executive secretary praised Bangladesh's continued engagement and contribution to ESCAP's work for the inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in Asia and the Pacific, said a foreign ministry press release Thursday.
