Police recovered the body of a police officer's wife from Bhatara area in the city early Friday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Mina Akhter, 25, wife of Sohel Rana, assistant sub-inspector of Bhatara Police Station.
Al-Imam Rajon, sub-inspector of Bhatara Police Station, said that Sohel Rana and his wife Mina used to live in a rented house in Soulmaid area.
Being informed by Sohel Rana that Mina had committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan following a scuffle with her husband, a team of police went to the house and found her body lying on the bed at around 03:00 am, said the SI.
Later, the body, which bore injury marks on it's neck, was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
