Coronation of Bhutan King Nov 6

The people and the Royal Government of Bhutan will celebrate the formal Coronation of His Majesty the Fifth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, from 6th to 8th November, 2008.
His Majesty the King has been shouldering the responsibilities of Monarch and the Head of State of Bhutan since December 14, 2006. The celebrations will mark the formal ascension of His Majesty the King to the Golden Throne.
The coronation ceremony will be held on November 6 in the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Golden Throne at Tashichho Dzong, Thimphu. His Majesty will deliver the Coronation Address to the nation at the celebration grounds of Changlimithang stadium on November 7. The celebrations will continue upto November 8, 2008 at the same venue.
The Bhutan government will issue gratis visas and waive tourist fees to those wishing to cover the celebrations. A media centre for their use, equipped with modern communications facilities, will be established and every effort will be made to facilitate their coverage of the events.
