Court denies bail of eight more pvt varsity students

A Dhaka court rejected on Monday the bail petitions of eight more private university students in two cases filed over vandalism and attacks on police during the student movement demanding road safety, reports UNB.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Pranab Kumar passed the order when two lawyers advocate Rakibul Hasan and advocate Ashrafuzzaman Didar sought bail for them in the two cases filed with Badda and Bhatara Police stations.
The eight students are Saber Ahmed Ullash, Mohammad Shihab Shahrier, Shakhawat Hossain Nijhum, Zahidul Haq, Nur Mohammad, Rashedul Islam, Mushfiqur Rahman and Mohammad Hasan. They are students of East West University and North South University.
Earlier on Sunday, the court rejected bail petition of four other private university students---Torikul Islam, Redwan Ahmed, Mashad Murtaza Ahad, and Azizul Karim Antar-in the two cases.
Earlier on August 9, 22 private university students were denied bail and sent to jail on expiry of their two-day remand in the cases.
On August 06, the students of the two private universities clashed with police while demonstrating against the attack on students during their movement for safe road in the city.
