A Dhaka court Tuesday took into cognizance the charge sheet (CS) against Oishi Rahman for murdering her parents, reports BSS.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court sent the case to Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judges Court after accepting the CS as it is ready for trail.
Earlier on March 9, after six months in the killing of police couple, Special Branch Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna Rahman, Detective Branch of (DB) of police pressed two separate charge sheets indicting their only daughter Oishi Rahman for murdering her parents and three others for assisting and instigating.
Investigation officer (IO) of the case and DB Inspector Abul Khair Matubber submitted the charge sheets before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka.
Police found dead SB Inspector Mahfuz and his wife at their Chamelibagh flat on August 16 last year.
Oishi was charged for killing her parents, while her friends Asaduzzaman alias Jony for instigation and Mizanur Rahman alias Rony providing shelter, in a charge sheet as their involvement were proved by evidence, DB Inspector Khair said.
"Housemaid Khadija Khatun Sumi was named in another CS as her age is under 18 and she (Sumi) will be tried in the juvenile court," he said, adding that Sumi was not directly involved with murder but had aided Oishee.
Oishee and her friends are now in jail while Sumi is being kept in a women's cell at Dhaka Central Prison-2 in Kashimpur.
He, however, said Oishi and housemaid Sumi gave confessional statement under Section 164 before the court admitting their involvement in the killing. Police had carried out various examinations, including forensic test, age determination test and DNA test of Oishi and domestic help Sumi to prove the offence.
"After scrutinising the examination tests, involvement of Oishi and their housemaid Sumi in the killing was found. DNA samples taken from tea and coffee mugs and their dresses had also matched," Khair said.
Oishi, an O level student, had killed her parents by stabbing them indiscriminately after mixing sleeping pills with their coffee, as they tried to prevent her from taking drugs, he said.
