Ctg celebrates Bangabandhu's birthday

CHATTOGRAM, March 17: The birthday of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated in a festive mood in the port city on Thursday.
Marking the day, different political parties and socio-cultural organisations placed wreaths at the murals of Father of Nation in the very early hours.
The organisations also cut cakes on the occasion.
The law enforcement agencies were seen to take special security measures to help people smoothly observe the day.
Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, President of Chittagong North District Awami League and Chairman of Chattogram Zila Parishad MA Salam, Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) Jahirul Alam Dobhash, Managing Director of Chattogram WASA Engineer AKM Fazlullah and top government officials paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his mural.
Menwhile, Chattogram Press Club and Chattogram Union of Journalists arranged separate programmes while Mohiuddin Chowdhury Foundation distributed foods among the poor people marking the day.
Bangladedh Awami League, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Bangladesher Samaj Tantrik Dal (JSD), Bangladesh Students Union, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Nagorik Cooperative Housing Society, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chattogram Shilpakala Academy and many other organisations paid homage to Bangabandhu.
Chattogram University (CU) and Chittagong University Alumni Association brought out rallies in addition to placing wreaths at the mural of Banglabandhu.
