CHITTAGONG, Nov 25: Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CMCCI) has formally started its journey as the High Court yesterday lifted the stay order on the activities of the new trade body.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Sayeed Mahmood Hossain and Justice Quamrul Islam Chowdhury gave the order. The High Court stay order came after a writ petition was filed by CCCI president MA Latif following the launching of the CMCCI on January 6 last.
Following the court order the board of directors of the CMCCI held an emergency meeting last night with its president Abdus Salam of Well Group, who is also the chairman of the CDA, in the chair.
The meeting was held at the auditorium of the KDS Group in the city's Oxygen area.
