CHITTAGONG, Mar 11 (UNB): Police on Sunday arrested four teenage boys from different places in the city as they allegedly kidnapped a schoolboy for realising ransom from his family.
The arrestees are as Muktadir Rahman, 17, Shakil, 18, Al Kibria, 16, and Shahid Ajmain, 19, all of them were students of Central Public School and College in the city.
Officer-in-charge of Sadarghat Police Station Nezam Uddin said the boys abducted Mehedi Hasan, a student of class VII of the same school, and planned to realise Tk 1.0 million as ransom from the his family.
The kidnappers tried to kill Mehedi by strangulation at a nursery in the Kadamtoli area on Saturday night and left the area presuming him dead, said the OC quoting the boy's family members. Getting back his consciousness Mehedi returned home with the help of local people and his family members filed a case against the four boys.
