FENI, Sept 19 (UNB): Train communications of Chittagong with Dhaka and other parts of the country were restored on Friday after seven hours of disruption following a collision between a bus and a train at Fatehpur level crossing in the district on Thursday night.
Railway sources said a Feni-bound 'Madina Paribahan' bus from Comilla broke down at Fatehpur level crossing around 10:30 pm.
At one stage, Chittagong-bound 'Chattrala Express' train smashed into the bus.
Two wheels of a compartment of the train veered off the tracks as the damaged bus got stuck into the engine of the train, halting train services of Chittagong with other parts of the country.
However, no causality was reported.
Being informed, police and RAB rushed to the spot and ensured safety of the passengers.
The rail link was restored around 5:30 am after two rescue trains from Laksham and Chittagong salvaged the train early Friday.
