Cultural function of Ananda Niketon School held

The annual cultural function of Ananda Niketon European School, an English medium school in the city, was held on Monday night at Shawkat Osman auditorium of the Public Library.
Students of the school enthralled the audience through their performances, which included staging drama, dance drama, reciting poems and rendering songs.
Former Vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University Prof Zillur Rahman Siddiqui and former caretaker government adviser Rasheda K Chowdhury attended the function as the guests of honour.
Chairperson of the school's governing body Dr Mahmud Hasan inaugurated the programme, coordinated by its principal Shamse A Hasan. School's senior section principal Sitara Jabeen Ahmed delivered the address of welcome.
Prof Siddiqui, in his speech, said: "Our children have high-level of commitment for the nation. The picture of the entire society can change positively if they are raised and developed properly."
