Customs officials seize 20 gold bars from HSIA dustbin

Customs officials seized on Monday 20 gold bars, weighing around 2.32 kg, from a dustbin at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the city, reports UNB.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) searched the trash bin under the boarding bridge of the airport around 5pm and found the gold bullion, worth around Tk 11.59 million (1.16 crore), wrapped with black scotch tape in a plastic bag, said sources at the CIID headquarters.
