Dacoits loot cash, valuables, one injured

MADARIPUR, Sept 10 (UNB): Armed dacoits looted cash and other valuables from a house in Badamtala area of the district town early Saturday leaving one injured.
Police quoting local people said the bandits, numbering 6/7, stormed into the house of Nandakumar Karmakar at about 1:30 am.
The robbers took away Tk 0.15 million in cash, 150 tolas of gold ornaments worth over Tk 25,00,000 and other valuables from the house keeping the inmates hostage at gunpoint.
At one stage, the dacoits stabbed Nandakumar's wife Pratima Rani (48) indiscriminately when she came forward to resist them, leaving her critically injured.
The victim was rushed to the Sadar hospital in critical condition.
A case was filed in this connection.
