Dacoits slaughter trader in presence of father

RANGPUR, Nov 19 (BSS): A young vegetables trader was slaughtered by a group of dacoits in presence of his father and relatives after looting everything at Burirhat Kobaru Bridge point under Sadar Upazila of the district Thursday.
The victim was identified as Sobuj (22), son of Babar Ali of village Gajoghonta Joydeb under Gangachara Upazila in the district.
According to police sources, victim Sobuj, his father Babar Ali and their three other relatives had been engaged in selling vegetables as retailers on the roadside footpaths in between the Pourasabha Market and the Super Market in the city.
As usual, they were returning home by a van-cart after selling their vegetables when they were caught by the dacoits at the point at about 1:30 am Thursday.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot, brought the body to Kotwali police station and sent it for autopsy to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) Thursday morning. A case was filed with Kotwali police station and police started hectic efforts to nab the killers, the sources added.
