CHATTOGRAM, May 06: The Department of Civil Engineering (DCE), Southern University Bangladesh, held a graduation ceremony and festival on the university's permanent campus at Arfeni Nagar under Bayezid PS in the port-city on Tuesday.
DCE Head Saima Akhtar chaired the ceremony. Manzar Khorshed Alam, Chairman of the Chattogram branch of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), was present as the chief guest.
Vice Chancellor (Acting) Dr. Sharif Ashrafuzzaman chaired the inaugural session of the event. Among others, Professor Dr. Mozammel Haque, Registrar A F M Modachare Ali, and Professor Dr. Md. Mainul Islam addressed the function.
The heads of departments, faculty members, officials, employees, journalists, and invited guests were present at the function.
At the beginning, the chief guest inaugurated a rally. Later, the invited guests unveiled the cover of the magazine Anchor 2026, published by the DCE. The guests also presented mementos to the students, who achieved the highest results.
