Today (Wednesday) is the 40th death anniversary of Bengali language movement organiser and veteran freedom fighter Barrister Syed Kamrul Islam Mohammed Salehuddin, says a statement.
He was one of the pioneer organisers of the Liberation War in 1971 and a renowned parliamentarian.
Barrister Salehuddin was born in Kashiani upazila of Gopalgonj.
In 1963, he went to the UK to pursue Bar-at-Law from Inner Temple and was selected as QC in 1969.
He was an elected member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Faridpur-2 constituency in 1970, nominated from Awami League.
