The 50th death anniversary of reputed social worker and high level government official Syed Shafiullah will be observed tomorrow (Friday). He breathed  his last 50 years ago on September 19 in 1964, says a press release.
He died at the age of 53 while serving as the Acting Secretary of the then East Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (EPWAPDA). He was the 6th son of well known social leader and government official of Rajbari area, Syed Mohammad Abdullah.
Syed Shafiullah was the first of the distinguished graduates of the Faridpur Rajendra College of his times. He was the President of the Greater Faridpur District Association in the early 1960s.
He and his wife Mrs. Sharfunnesa have five daughters ad one son. Daughters are Syeda Umme Sufia, Syeda Zohra Banu, late Syeda Amena Banu, Dr. Syeda Rezina Banu and Dr. Syeda Selina Banu. Their only son Dr. Syed Nasrullah Mamun is a physician.
Teacher and novelist Syeda Umme Sufia the eldest daughter of Syed Shfiullah is married to Social Scientists, Writer, Researcher and former Information Minister, Dr. Mizanur Rahman Shelley.
