Death anniversary of Matiur today

The 30th death anniversary of Matiur Rahman, former Chief Reporter of the Bangladesh Times and the Weekly Holiday, will be observed in the city today (Friday), reports BSS.
He died of cancer at the age of 37.
Before Liberation, Matiur Rahman joined the then Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as public relations chief.
Matiur worked as a stringer of the New York Times. He was also related with Shondhani Prokashani.
Khatme Quran and milad mahfil will be held after Asr prayers at the residence of his sister at House No. 16, Block-F, Section- 2 Mirpur.
Friends, relatives and well wishers have been requested to attend the milad mahfil.
