Death toll rises to 16

PATUAKHALI, May 5 (BSS): With recovery of four more bodies Monday morning, the death toll in Saturday's launch capsize in the Kalagachhia River under Golachipa upazila of the district rose to 16.

Police said the divers recovered the bodies of four more victims from the sunken vessel in the morning.

The launch, MV-Shakil, was carrying about 40 passengers when it sank in the river at Ragabali, one kilometer off Kalagachhia terminal, Saturday afternoon. The launch was heading toward Patuakhali from Rangabali during the accident.
