Dengue: 219 new patients hospitalised

Newly 219 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in the past 24 hours until Friday morning. No deaths were reported from the mosquito-borne disease during the period.
With the latest figure, the total number of dengue hospitalisations has increased to 44,692 while the overall death toll remains unchanged at 188 since January, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DGHS data also showed that a total of 42,478 patients have so far recovered and been discharged from hospitals across the country.
Of the newly admitted patients, males accounted for 58 per cent and females 42 per cent. The highest concentration of cases continues to be in Dhaka city, although significant numbers were reported from other divisions as well.
Analysis indicates that young adults aged between 21 and 30 years remain the most affected group.
