One more person died of dengue while 60 people were hospitalised with the viral infection in 24 hours until Monday morning as cases have continued to increase in Bangladesh, reports UNB.
So far, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has reported seven deaths from the mosquito-borne viral disease-a leading cause of serious illness and death in some Asian and Latin American countries.
Forty new patients were admitted to the hospitals in Dhaka and 20 others outside the city.
Two hundred and seventy-six dengue patients, including 212 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country. On June 21, the DGHS reported the first death of the season from the viral disease. This year, it has recorded 2,206 dengue cases and 1,923 recoveries so far.
