Dengue continues to spread in Bangladesh, with 391 new cases and one death reported in a day between Saturday and Sunday morning, official data revealed.
Most of the new patients are from the Barishal region, which is currently the worst-hit area, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
It said that 128 of the new patients were admitted to hospitals in the Barishal division. This area has been the worst affected by the mosquito-borne disease.
The other new cases were reported from different parts of the country.
There were 41 cases reported in Chattogram division, 39 in Dhaka division (outside the capital), 63 in Dhaka South City Corporation area, and 20 in Dhaka North City Corporation area.
