CHITTAGONG, July 22: The Tk 64 million development work of Sirajuddowla Road, one of the important roads of the port city, is likely to begin shortly after a wait for one and a half years. Inaugurating the project Saturday, Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works ASM Rashidul Hai said the development of Sirajuddowla Road was expected to be completed within the scheduled time as there was no dearth of fund.
With the completion of the project, city dwellers would be relieved from the unbearable traffic jam as the road would make it easier for vehicles to move.
Due to unauthorised occupation of the road by the vested quarters and development of holes and cracks, it became quite difficult for different engine-run vehicles to ply on the road.
People from all walks of life had arranged different programmes like human chain, meetings and seminar for the development of the road.
