Dhaka WASA, ADB sign water supply deal

ADB Country Director Kazuhiko Higuchi and Mohammad Mejbahuddin, secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD), exchanging documents after signing the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at the ERD Bhaban in the city recently.


A loan agreement was signed between the Bangladesh Government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to develop an environmentally sustainable water supply system, said a press release.
ADB will provide $250 million for the project to produce 500 million litres of water per day from the river Meghna from its 'Bishnandi' point of Araihajar Upazila of Narayanganj.
