A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed Diamond World Limited Managing Director (MD) Dilip Kumar Agarwala on a three-day remand in a case filed over killing BNP activist Ridoy Ahmed during recent Anti-Discrimination Movement.
Judge of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Dhaka, Mehedi Hasan, passed the order after hearing a petition.
Earlier on the day, police produced him in the court and sought a seven-day remand for Dilip, who was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion on Tuesday midnight from Gulshan area.
General Register officer (GRO) of the Badda Police Station cases confirmed the court order to the FE.
Sources said Ridoy was killed as police started firing indiscriminately on agitating students and people in Badda area on July 19 this year.
Shahadat Hossain, joint secretary of BNP's Shibchar upazila unit of Madaripur district, filed the case on August 22 against 161 persons including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
