Didar A Husain, a founding trustee, has been elected chairman of Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) Board of Trustees for the year 2024-25, says a press release.
Mr. Husain participated in the Liberation War while he was a student University of Dhaka. He was commissioned as an officer in the 1st War Course of the Bangladesh Army on October 9, 1971.
Retired from the Army as a Major in 1981, he entered the textile business in New Asia and was a vice president of Bangladesh Textile Mills Associationduring the period from 2005 to 2006. presently, he is the Chairman of Rahim Textile Mills Limited.
The other members of the board are AK Ashraf Uddin Ahmed, Dr Husne Ara Ali, Rashed Chowdhury, A Matin Chowdhury, Ismail Dobash, Javed Hosein, Mirza Salman Ispahani, Altamash Kabir, AHA Rasheed Khan, Salma Karim, A Quaiyum Khan, Mohammad Zakaria Khan, Yasmine Z Mahmud, Wajid Ali Khan Panni, Saifur Rahman, Abdul Hai Sarker, Altaf Hossain Sarker, Towhid Samad and Nilufer Zafarullah.
