A discussion on 'Disruption in Today's Business' organised by Career Guidance and Placement (CGP) department of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) was held on its campus at Bashundhara in the city recently, says a press release.
Quazi Mohammad Shahed, chief human resources officer (CHRO) of Gramenphone, was the main speaker at the discussion.
He said business is changing faster than ever and the disruption made by the change is affecting every industry. He mentioned five disruptive forces, such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence, big data, e-money or cash-less and internet.
He also focused on the industry impact of digitisation with a special reference on telecom sector.
Prof Milan Pagon, pro-vice chancellor of IUB, gave welcome address while Md Abdullah Iqbal, deputy director of Career Guidance and Placement department of the university, delivered vote of thanks.
