DIU to host 17th ICCIT 2014

Daffodil International University (DIU) will host the 17th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (ICCIT) 2014 scheduled to be held on December 22-23 on its university campus at Ashulia of Savar.

The event is technically co-sponsored by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Bangladesh Section. Robi Axiata is the platinum sponsor of the conference supported by the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and IT.

A Meet the Press was held Saturday at a restaurant in the city in this connection. The Meet the Press was addressed by Robi Axiata Limited CEO Supun Weerasinghe, DIU Vice Chancellor Prof M Lutfar Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Golam Rahman, Science and Information Technology Faculty Dean Prof SM Mahbub-Ul-Haque Majumder and ICCIT 2014 Organising Chair Prof Syed Akhter Hossain. Daffodil Group Chairman and Chief Patron of the conference Md Sabur Khan moderated it.

The main theme of ICCIT 2014 is "ICCIT for Innovation". This year ICCIT is partnered by renowned foreign universities of the European Union Amity University and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), India. Alongside the academic partners, there are industrial partners such as Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS), Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), CTO Forum Bangladesh and Bangladesh Electronic Society (BES) while Bangladesh Women in IT (BWIT) has already joined ICCIT 2014 to leverage industry academy dialogue.

A total of 367 original research papers were submitted for ICCIT 2014 from 28 countries out of which 100 papers were selected for oral presentation after review.
