Division level contest of 'NU star hunt' ends

The inter-college cultural competition titled 'National University Star Hunt' successfully completed in six divisional cities of the country with performances of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions Saturday.
Competitions of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions were held on the premises of Rajshahi College (RC) and BL College respectively. Some 163 contestants from the two divisions took part at the seven events of the competition.
Rajshahi division competition started at 10:00 am at the college auditorium. College Principal Md Shams Ul Haque inaugurated the event.
RC teacher and divisional convener of the competition Farida Sultana, Vice-Principal SM Rejaul Haque, National University (NU) central committee member SM Mujahidul Islam, NU directors of finance and accounting Shahabuddin and Fakir Rafiqul Alam, among others, were present on the occasion.
In the competition, 103 contestants participated in the seven events: 15 in debate, 15 in Tagore songs, 14 in Nazrul songs, 16 in modern songs, 16 in folk songs, 17 in patriotic songs and 10 in dance.
Competition of Khulna division was organised at the BL College auditorium. Khulna Divisional Commissioner Yunusur Rahman inaugurated the function in the morning.
Earlier, competitions of Dhaka and Chittagong divisions were held on July 28 and competitions of Barisal and Sylhet divisions on August 4.
Final competition will be held in Dhaka with some 18 winners in six events and two debate teams from every division.
