The traffic department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday field 2,089 cases for violation of traffic rules at different places in the capital, according to a police official.
It also dumped 79 vehicles and brought 52 others to dumping zone for keeping them for some time.
The DMP traffic has been on drive since mid August 2024 for restoring discipline on the city's roads and ensuring pedestrians safety.
