Health Minister Mohammad Nasim Thursday suggested that a law, making the services of a doctor compulsory for two years in any village, be enacted.
"The doctors must stay in villages for at least two years once they are transferred. Otherwise, they have to leave job. We will formulate a law to keep them in villages so that no one could lobby for transfer," said Mr Nasim.
The Minister was speaking with the Health Directorate officials during a views exchange meeting at his secretariat office. Director General of Health Directorate Dr Md Sifayet Ullah chaired the meeting.
The Minister reiterated his commitment not to compromise with corruption. He directed the health department officials not to coopeara with any corrupt officials and staff of the department.
