Don't buy stolen mobile phones: DMP

FE REPORT
Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has urged people not to purchase stolen mobile phones to avoid harassment.
Joint Commissioner (Admin and DB-South) Md Mahbub Alam came up with the suggestion at a press briefing held at its media centre in the capital on Saturday.
He said the incidents of snatching digital devices like mobile sets had been occurring in the city.
Snatchers mostly drug addicted juveniles are involved in snatching mobile sets and jewellery from the streets, he added.
The police official also said stolen mobile sets could be used again by simply changing the IME number done by a 'vicious circle' at several mobile markets in the capital.
They had taken actions several times in the past against a section of dishonest traders at Eastern Plaza and Motaleb Plaza at Hatirpool and Gulistan market who were involved in changing the IME number of mobile sets.
He further said their drives were going on to recover stolen mobile sets.
