Dr Andaleeb new VC of BRAC University

Dr Syed Saad Andaleeb has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor (VC) of BRAC University. The Board of Trustees of the university approved his appointment recently. He took over Sunday, says a press release.

Before joining BRAC University Dr Andaleeb was professor of Marketing at the Sam & Irene Black School of Business, Pennsylvania State University, Erie, USA.

He is the editor of the Journal of Bangladesh Studies since 1999. He has published widely in peer-reviewed and practitioner journals and has presented invited papers at Oxford University, the Harvard School of Public Health and Cornell University's South Asia Programme on improving health services in developing countries.

He has consulted for The World Bank, UNFPA, ILO, FAO, IFAD and various corporate bodies in the United States; he has also advised the government of Bangladesh on various social development programmes including health care and education. He served on the expert panel for Transparency International, Bangladesh.
