Dr Khashruzzaman's 8th death anniv today

The 8th death anniversary of Dr Khashruzzaman Choudhury, an Independence Award winning freedom fighter, will be observed today (Thursday).
A member of the then Civil Service of Pakistan, Dr Khashruzzaman organised the 1971 Liberation War in Kishoreganj where he served as a sub-divisional officer.
He joined the home ministry of the Mujibnagar government as deputy secretary.
After independence, he was appointed deputy commissioner of Mymensingh district and also served the education ministry looking after UNESCO affairs.
After doing master's from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA, he received his Doctoral degree in Economics from Syracuse University, Upstate New York and served as a professor at Southern University in Louisiana.
